Every commission begins as a conversation and is shaped slowly in the studio. The process is deliberately unhurried, so that each cake receives the attention it needs.

The work in progress

Designs are sketched, tested and refined before they are finished. Small adjustments to proportion and texture often make the difference between a good cake and one that feels right for the celebration.

Working by hand

Much of the detail is still made by hand, one element at a time, so that the finished cake holds together as a single composition.
